  • Abstract:  A fine-sounding option for those looking for a networked audio player — with a few ergonomic quirks Finally — and this one’s not Cambridge’s fault — the player is limited to the organizational structure of the services it, uh, serves, whether these are ...

  • Compact. On-board DAC. Wireless. Easy-to-use app. 24-bit playback. Excellent file support
  • Not as "fun" as competitors. App takes a while to load music. Needs an external DAC for best sound. No AirPlay. LED display is a little hard to read
  • The Cambridge Audio NP30 is a herald of the future of streaming media with wide format support and decent quality sound....

  • Excellent sound, Robust build quality, Wide digital music format support, Reliable and easy to use
  • Hesitation when loading lists, Dark grey finish a little dull, No Spotify or Napster
  • The Cambridge Audio NP30 is a first-rate network music player – easy to use, beautifully built and a highly competent performer. What's more, its £400 price tag seems like an absolute bargain compared with the wallet-busting prices of high-end streamers f...

  • High quality sound; fairly easy to use; fast and responsive; can be controlled with an app,
  • Setup could have been easier; doesn't connect to Spotify; extremely expensive,
  • A very high-quality music player, but it's far too expensive for what it does ...

  • While the Cambridge Audio Sonata NP30 has hi-fi credentials with its native 24/96 streaming rate, but you’ll need a decent system to appreciate it. You’ll also need an iOS device to get the most out of it too. Due in Q4 this year, is the Android alter...

  • File support; price; UuVol App; BBC iPlayer Radio; sound quality,
  • No Spotify; poor remote; no Android app.
  • OK, so there's no sign of Apple Airplay, but this music streamer is way ahead of its time. The addition of a useful app is welcome, while the UuVol streaming hub is excellent the more it's used and customized - and makes operation of the NP30 far easie...

  • Lossless music streaming, file compatibility, UuVol App design, BBC iPlayer Radio
  • UuVol App frequently loses connection to NP30 & UPnP device, lacks Apple AirPlay and Spotify, poor remote, slow start-up, no Android app
  • It lacks Apple AirPlay, but lossless music fans are served well by the NP30. A standalone streamer of this price could be overkill for most, but audiophiles will adore the NP30...

  • Small form factor, easy to read display, integrated wifi, neutral sound, intuitive app
  • Rivals boast more features – and superior sound quality
  • Previously, the Cambridge NP30 has done enough to see off any challenge to its five-star rating. In isolation, it's still a good streamer; but in the jostle for class-leading status, it's been muscled out. See all our media server/client reviewsFollow wha...
