Hours of addictive turnbased glee
Fantastic new tactical combat system
Excellent interface makes it easy to keep track of every aspect of the game
Great automation features allow you to focus on the big picture
Lovely visuals and classical soundtrack.
An excellent refinement of the classic Civ formula

The editors didn't like
I have lost way too much sleep time playing it.
Mac version needs help
Still some AI glitches and multiplayer ‘roughness' needing a patch
Feels far more simplistic and less rich than previous Civilization titles. Changes to major mechanics will require significant readjustment time for veterans.
New city-states feature is a double-edged sword
Games lack a sense of character
Some omissions from multiplayer hurt that experience.

If you’re still reading, I hope that you haven’t gotten the impression that this game is horrible. It is not. Despite all its flaws, I still cannot tear myself away once I start playing. The bad news is that the game isn’t everything we fans wanted it...
First and foremost, as a newcomer, I was captivated almost immediately with this game. I mentioned earlier that it's a complex game overall, but despite that, it's easy to grasp, and after a couple of rounds, you will almost feel like a pro (that prob...
