The editors liked
Brilliant real-time strategy gameplay is perfectly balanced and infinitely complex
Varied single-player campaign
Doesn't require previous expansions
Co-op modes ease in new players
Gorgeous cinematics
Legacy of the Void continues with the same solid gameplay that StarCraft II has had since the initial release in 2010. Additions to the online mode should also reinvigorate the game and the new Archon mode offers a chance for the less experienced to learn
Delightfully campy campaign
Excellent mission structure and pacing
Technically masterful
Improved accessibility
More than 20 new campaign missions
Six new multiplayer units
Two new game modes
Fitting end to the StarCraft story
An exciting end to an epic story. RTS gameplay just as good as ever
Fantastic storyline sews up the trio of games
Archon and co-op modes are welcome additions
New units bring new tactics
But still instantly familiar gameplay
Campaign worth playing at least twice
Daily tournaments
The editors didn't like
Altered multiplayer pace may be divisive
Lower price reflects smaller amount of new content
The story of StarCraft II has been deteriorating from the start and here it only gets worse
Being simply bad at best with terrible writing. The other major complaint is that I don't see how the game has changed enough to justify this being a full priced
Competitive play is brutally complex
Sound and graphics largely unchanged
If you didn't like Starcraft before
There's not much here to draw you in
Some aspects of in-engine look a little long in the tooth
Challenging and interesting campaign, Surprisingly entertaining cooperative gameplay, Competitive gameplay faithful to Star Craft II, Great soundtrack and voice acting
Some bad script writing at times, New units are mainly novelties, Reviewed on PC. Also available on Mac.
Some fun new additions for newbies, Better than ever for playing with friends, A sharp, if sometimes repetitive, campaign
A mediocre ending to a mediocre story, Online multiplayer still inaccessible to mere mortals
The fact is that StarCraft II's multiplayer will always be a cruel world What a last hurrah this is. The campaign contains the same cleverly conceived scenarios we've come to expect from Blizzard over the years. One mission is wonderfully realised game o...
A fitting end to the StarCraft II saga, Superb campaign missions, Beautiful design and animation, More accessible online and co-op play
Minor difficulty and pathfinding issues, Still a very traditional RTS game
A cracking climax to the StarCraft 2 saga, Legacy of the Void combines the best ever StarCraft multiplayer experience with what's arguably the strongest of the three campaigns. If you played and loved Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Storm then you've pr...

Abstract: I really dig StarCraft II's co-op missions. It's a great mode to dive into to partake in some PvE goodness with a friend (or a complete stranger). Unfortunately though, despite there being a good variety of maps and commanders on offer from the get-go, th...

Abstract: Back in 2010, the world got its first taste of a brand new, modern StarCraft. Wings of Liberty was the first part of the trilogy, and it ushered in a new era of Blizzard's RTS . It took almost three years for the next piece of the puzzle to come out. In 2...
Abstract: If your parents ever disparaged your video game obsession as a huge waste of time, they're either a) out of touch or b) lacking in vision. That may sound overly harsh, but there's some truth in this take. Esports, the video game industry's competitive gam...
Abstract: StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void is both a fantastic conclusion to Blizzard's five-year saga and a great entry point into one of the most complex, but satisfying, strategy games ever. It's a towering achievement...

Abstract: I don't think I really understood the Protoss until StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void. Which is a pretty high compliment for a game that caps off almost 20 years' worth of lore and world building for this race of psychic space-elves. Coming into Legacy of t...

A mediocre ending to a mediocre story, Online multiplayer still inaccessible to mere mortals
What a last hurrah this is. The campaign contains the same cleverly conceived scenarios we've come to expect from Blizzard over the years. One mission is wonderfully realised game of tug of war, another sees your units involved in a race against an orbita...
