Substandard Hardware Pack (composite cables for a 3D HD player?!)
Expensive
No glasses included (though you can get 2 pairs with purchase of TV and player)
One of the audibly noisier players I've tried
The quality of traditional 2D content could be better
It doesn’t playback MP3 files.
The BDC6900 uses HDMI 1.3
Not 1.4. HDMI 1.3 will support 3D playback
But it only supports transmission of a 1080i signal for each eye. HDMI v1.4 can support 1080p for each eye. [UPDATE 4/29/10
This is incorrect. A Samsung product manager confirms that the BDC6900 does have an HDMI 1.4 output.]
This player lacks an advanced control port like RS232.
3D price premium is high
Buttons on top of the player are inconvenient
Last year's Samsung Blu-ray players had reliability issues
Internet@TV and Samsung Apps are Samsung’s new proprietary content portal for home entertainment systems. Not much details are available now as to how it will exactly work with other devices like TVs, laptops and smartphones. According to Samsung, the ...
Abstract: I subscribe to the theory that any disc player worth owning should have the demeanour of a battleship built by a Scottish shipyard. Rigidity foreshadows integrity, and tells me that a manufacturer takes the player as seriously as I take my media. So Sa...
Abstract: We are on the cusp of what could be the next revolution in television technology. You guessed it – I’m talking about 3D TV. It’s been more than two years since the first 3D TVs were demonstrated at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas and n...
Abstract: I was very happy with the BD-C6900's really fast start-up and loading times. During the brief time that it spent at my house, I did not experience any lock ups or functional issues. It delivered a great quality Blu-ray picture and..
Fast operation, 3D-ready, large content library via video-on-demand
Expensive compared to non-3D Blu-ray players, graphical user interface is sometimes slow, occasional visual problems with 3D video
The Samsung BD-C6900 is a very well put together Blu-ray player. It is fast to start, it's compact and attractive, and it can access Internet video content as well as playing 3D Blu-ray discs. It is expensive, but if you're keen on getting your video from...
Excels at 2D Blu-ray. Excellent feature set including apps and widgets. Integrated wireless. Good quality sound
3D is terrifyingly overrated. Can't fix 3D problems through menu option
The Samsung BD-C6900 is an excellent 2D Blu-ray player and an average 3D player. Come for three dimensions stay for two! It will also play CDs respectably....
Supports Bluray 3D discs, Analogue audio up to 7.1, Unusual design and low energy consumptopn, Media player: supports lots of video formats and NTFS
Colours aren't accurate!, Oldfashioned remote without backlighting, Poor upscaling of SD sources, No room for adjusting settings like colours or noise reduction
The Samsung BD-C6900 has lots of great features: it's compatible with Blu-ray 3D discs, has a great design and boasts an excellent media player. Unfortunately, it also has two big weaknesses: upscaling of SD sources is too rough and colours aren't repr...
The BD-C6900 is a mightily impressive piece of kit for its price tag. It loads up discs rapidly, delivers a beautifully clean, vibrant image from both 2D and 3D Blu-ray discs and features 7.1 analogue surround sound output, allowing watchers of 3D films to also experience lossless surround sound rather than having to downgrade to Dolby Digital or DTS. There’s also a formidable array of multimedia
The player can exhibit the odd bit of crosstalk during 3D playback, causing objects to ghost – but this is more an issue with the 3D TV it’s hooked up to, and we can’t really count it as a weakness for the BD-C6900.
