The editors didn't like

  • Substandard Hardware Pack (composite cables for a 3D HD player?!)
  • Expensive
  • No glasses included (though you can get 2 pairs with purchase of TV and player)
  • One of the audibly noisier players I've tried
  • The quality of traditional 2D content could be better
  • It doesn’t playback MP3 files.
  • The BDC6900 uses HDMI 1.3
  • Not 1.4. HDMI 1.3 will support 3D playback
  • But it only supports transmission of a 1080i signal for each eye. HDMI v1.4 can support 1080p for each eye. [UPDATE 4/29/10
  • This is incorrect. A Samsung product manager confirms that the BDC6900 does have an HDMI 1.4 output.]
  • This player lacks an advanced control port like RS232.
  • 3D price premium is high
  • Buttons on top of the player are inconvenient
  • Last year's Samsung Blu-ray players had reliability issues

  • Speedy disc-load speed; excellent picture quality; good Internet TV functions; impressive media-playback options; attractive design
  • Networking process isn't always straightforward
  • As Blu-ray players go, the Samsung BD-C6900 is pretty amazing. It's got all the usual features, like BD-Live and lovely lossless audio, but it also packs in Internet TV streaming and 3D capability. It costs significantly more than a normal Blu-ray pla...

  • Even without its 3D capabilities, the BD-C6900 would be one of the best Blu-ray players on the market. It boasts a phenomenal range of features, the most impressive of which are comprehensive multimedia support and wireless networking, while its 2D pictur...

  • Affordable first-entrant into the 3D Blu-ray player market. Good pictures. Stylish. Great spec
  • Can be beaten for sound and 2D by players costing a fair bit less
  • If you’re desperate to get a 3D Blu-ray player, this makes a lot of sense – and not just because it’s the first on the market ...

  • The Samsung BD-C6900 Blu-ray disc player is full of useful features. We'd be inclined to use the video-on-demand features and internet access more than 3D Blu-ray playback at the moment, but 3D playback will make it attractive to anyone who is thinkin...

  • Great video quality, Fast loading, USB file support, 3D compatibility, Better 'net content
  • Some connection issues, You'll need to use analogue 7.1 outputs into a legacy HDMI v1.3 receiver
  • The BD-D6900 is a fantastic fusion of Blu-ray and Freeview HD technology that may not satisfy everyone's needs but certainly won't leave buyers feeling short-changed thanks to its all-encompassing feature list, terrific pictures and alluring looks...

  • Punchy, vibrant pictures from all discs, above-average DVD upscaling, flashy looks, good range of internet services
  • 3D pictures lack the crispness and solidity of the best, a touch of motion smear, some offer greater sonic attack

  • design, rapidité de chargement des disques, excellente qualité d’image, fonctions connectées.
